Orion Pax Becomes Optimus Prime

This revelation turned the entire city against Sentinel, weakening his hold on power. D-16, now fully embracing his new identity as Megatron, prepared to execute Sentinel as revenge for his crimes. However, Orion Pax intervened, sacrificing himself to stop Megatron’s execution.

Orion’s selfless act of sacrifice triggered a response from the Matrix of Leadership, which had long been tied to the noble ideals of leadership and justice. Recognizing Orion’s worthiness, the Matrix chose him as its new bearer, reviving him as Optimus Prime.
