May 19, 2026 | Quetta

Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir has declared that Pakistan’s journey toward stability and development cannot be stopped by propaganda campaigns, fake news, or externally-sponsored terrorism.

During his visit to Quetta on Tuesday, the military chief interacted with officers and troops stationed in Balochistan and delivered a strong message regarding national unity, security, and future warfare preparedness.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir stressed that hostile forces attempting to weaken Pakistan through proxy warfare and misinformation campaigns would ultimately fail because of the resilience of the Pakistani state and the unity of its people.

Pakistan’s Progress “Cannot Be Derailed”

Addressing military personnel in Quetta, the army chief said Pakistan was moving toward a destined rise that could not be obstructed by enemies operating through terrorism or propaganda.

He emphasized that:

  • Fake news campaigns are being used to create instability.
  • External hostile elements are supporting terrorism through proxy networks.
  • National unity remains Pakistan’s biggest strength.
  • Armed forces are fully prepared to eliminate terrorism in every form.

The military leadership reiterated that the armed forces, together with the support of the people, remain committed to ensuring peace and protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Field Marshal Munir highlighted that sustainable peace in Balochistan requires more than military operations. He explained that long-term stability depends on:

  • Inclusive development
  • Better governance
  • Public welfare initiatives
  • Stronger connections between the state and local communities

He appreciated the efforts of the Balochistan government for focusing on socio-economic uplift and public welfare projects aimed at improving the lives of people in the province.

The military chief also praised the morale and professionalism of officers and troops deployed in the region for maintaining peace, stability, and the writ of the state.

Address at Command and Staff College Quetta

During his visit, the field marshal also addressed student officers and faculty members at the Command and Staff College Quetta.

He praised the institution for maintaining high standards of training, professionalism, and intellectual excellence. According to ISPR, he noted that graduates of the college continue to perform exceptionally in military service.

Field Marshal Munir also spoke about the rapidly changing nature of modern warfare and warned that future conflicts would rely heavily on advanced technologies and multi-domain operations.

Modern Warfare and Emerging Technologies

The military chief stressed the importance of preparing armed forces for next-generation warfare, including:

  • Cyber warfare
  • Electronic warfare
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Drone technology
  • Long-range precision systems
  • Multi-domain military operations

He advised officers to continuously train themselves and their troops to adapt to changing battlefield environments while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and operational readiness.

Earlier this month, the field marshal had also emphasized that future wars would increasingly depend on technological superiority and coordinated operations across land, air, sea, cyber, and space domains.

Pakistan Army’s Ongoing Transformation

The Pakistan Armed Forces have recently highlighted efforts to modernize military capabilities and strengthen indigenous defence technologies.

Earlier this year, while visiting Bahawalpur Garrison, Field Marshal Munir stated that Pakistan’s armed forces were undergoing major transformation across multiple operational domains.

Similarly, ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry also recently highlighted the country’s indigenous military capabilities and advancements in modern defence systems.

National Unity Remains Key

The Quetta visit once again reflected Pakistan’s broader security strategy, combining military preparedness with development-focused governance and national unity.

Field Marshal Asim Munir concluded that despite external pressures and security challenges, Pakistan would continue progressing toward stability, development, and modernization through the collective strength of its institutions and people.
